En el libro “ Patagonia // Natural history, prehistory and ethnography // at the uttermost and of the Earth”, editado por Collin Mc. Ewan, Luis A. Borrero y Alfredo Prieto, aparece la acuarela que inspirara para realizar este grabado.
La cita dice: “(Provablemente Haush en la Bahia Buen Suceso) por Alexander Buchan, quien acompañó al Capitán Hook un su viaje de 1769. Note las bolsas colgando atrás y las pieles que son estiradas y secadas en marcos en afuera a la derecha de la choza.”
